Shelley and Trevor's Big Day

On 19 November Shelley officially became Mrs Jory-Leigh when she married marine engineer, Trevor. The marriage took place at Wimborne Minster and was officiated by Canon John Holbrook.

Shelley took a slow run up the aisle to the "start line" with her father John. She was attended by her four Maids of Honour, Darrell Elmes, Louisa Edmonds, Libby Keir and Sarah Curtis. As always Trevor waited patiently for her in the pits (pews) with best man Steve Lawrence.

Shelley swapped race overalls for a magnificent platinum silver dress made for her by top wedding dress designer Justin Alexander. 45 yards of dupion silk created the breath taking coat and dress ensemble which featured 3000 Swarovski crystals. These sparkled beautifully as the sun shone through the stained glass windows of the minster.

The congregation of family and friends included world power boat champions Steve Curtis and Neil Holmes. They all enjoyed several special moments during the service including a traditional reading by Ken Keir, a solo rendition of the song "People" by David Curtis, "Pie Jesu" sung by the Choir of the Wimborne Minster and a poignant "nautical" reading, written and read by the BBC's H2O programme presenter Tracey Clarke.

As the bells rang out from the Minster Shelley, Trevor and guests set off for the Chewton Glen in the New Forest for champagne, photographs, speeches and dancing to sounds from Wave 105's Steve Power.
